We are excited to announce that the Rev. Warren Swenson has been appointed as Instructor of Homiletics at the School of Theology. An Episcopal priest of the Diocese of West Missouri, Warren is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Theology and Religious Studies at the University of Chester, where his research focuses in the area of contextual homiletics.
Warren’s ministry experience has been shaped primarily by small-church and rural contexts, most notably through nearly six years of service with Southeast Tennessee Episcopal Ministry (STEM). He is currently the Associate Director of the University of the South’s SUMMA Theological Debate Program and has previously served as Visiting Instructor of Rhetoric in the College of Arts and Sciences.
Warren holds Master of Divinity and Master of Sacred Theology degrees from the University of the South, as well as a Bachelor of Arts with majors in Communication Studies and Spanish from Baker University. He will join the School of Theology faculty July 1.
