How long will the renovation of Hamilton Hall take?

The renovation of Hamilton Hall began in early 2023. We expect to move back into a completely renovated Hamilton Hall in the late summer of 2024—in time for the 2024 Advent semester.

What are the opening hours of Cravens Hall?

Cravens Hall is open seven days a week from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. The building is opened and closed by our proctor and only accessible during these hours. Students will not be issued keys to Cravens Hall.

Where are lecturers held in Cravens Hall?

Cravens Hall offers two large lecture spaces, which we refer to as Upper and Lower Cravens. The lobby of Cravens Hall serves as the student common room and has been furnished for that purpose, including a coffee station. Please be aware that the School of Theology shares Cravens Hall with the University Catering Services and that we do not have access to most kitchen facilities, closets, and other storage spaces in the building.

Will is there coffee available to seminarians in the student common room?

Water for coffee is available at the sink in the Upper Cravens kitchen. During the week, the doors between the student common room and the kitchen are opened at 7:00 am and close at 7:00 pm. There is no access to the kitchen on the weekends. Please keep in mind that the School of Theology is allowed in the kitchen space to access water for the purpose of making coffee. We are not authorized to access other areas of the kitchen or the equipment and goods stored there.

Do seminarians have access to a refrigerator in Cravens Hall?

There is no common refrigerator for School of Theology use in Cravens Hall.

Is there storage space available to students in Cravens Hall?

Lockers for seminarian use have been mounted in the smaller lobby at the bottom of the stairs in Lower Cravens. We ask you to provide a lock if you choose to secure your locker. Also, available in Lower Cravens are open cubbies that will not be assigned.

Where can I park?

Seminarian parking is available in the Kentucky Avenue parking lot adjacent to Cravens Hall. For safety and space reasons, we request that the Ely Lane parking lot adjacent to Hamilton Hall and COTA not be used by any member of the School of Theology community. For further questions about parking on campus please refer to the University parking policy.

Is there a computer lab in Cravens Hall?

No. Per space and wiring limitations, we are not able to provide a computer lab in Cravens Hall. Computers and printers for your use are available on the third floor of DuPont Library. Additionally, the ATC computer lab in the basement of the library is accessible 24 hours a day with your student I.D.

May I request dedicated study space?

Yes. Though dedicated desk space that was available in Hamilton Hall (such as study carrels and classroom desk space) is not available in Cravens Hall, assigned individual study space is available on the third floor of DuPont Library.  If you would like an assigned study carrel, please see Dr. Stefanut.
