Transcripts - Official transcripts will be required from all institutions. Transcripts may be submitted electronically to theologyadmissions@sewanee.edu by the granting institution or mailed directly to:

Financial Aid Forms - You’ll find information about financial aid and a link to the application here.

Academic & Clergy Recommendations - All students for all degree programs are required to submit one academic and one clergy recommendation. You may have someone submit a recommendation on your behalf by sending them this link: theology.sewanee.edu/recommendation.

Background Check - Students in programs with an academic year residence (August - May) will require proof of a background check. A diocese may submit that material on your behalf by emailing it to theologyadmissions@sewanee.edu or sending it directly to:

Students without a diocesan background check who are working with the Office of Admission to complete this requirement will be sent further directions on completing this requirement.

Interview - An interview is required for admission to all degree programs. Please watch for an email from the School of Theology. We will reach out to arrange for your interview.  

Please note that your transcripts, recommendations, background check, and financial aid forms must be submitted prior to your application deadline in order for you to be considered for admission. We will get in touch with you about the status of your application as quickly as possible.
