Associate Dean for Spiritual and Professional Formation

One of the ways I see the fruit of Christ’s grace for the Church is through the formation that happens in a residential seminary. I look back over decades of parish ministry and see how seminary supported me: the relationships I built, the shared ministries, the patterns of daily worship, and the rich community traditions of the School of Theology. In my work with students as the Associate Dean for Spiritual and Professional Formation, I want them to experience the same grace of God through their time in this place. I offer pastoral and spiritual support through community forums, pilgrimages, and Quiet Days, and I assist students with the work of discernment and deployment as they launch their ministries. My educational interests include emotional intelligence, self-awareness, developing a Rule of Life, and spiritual practices for vocational discernment.
