Since the opening of the newly-remodeled Hamilton Hall in 2024, the Center for Religion and Environment has overseen the creation of the new School of Theology Garden. The garden is organized by CRE work-study students and maintained by a team of student and faculty volunteers. It provides an opportunity for students to learn practical ministry skills, gain a new perspective on food systems, reconnect with nature, or just unwind while getting their hands dirty.
Once established, the garden will host apple, pear, cherry, plum, and pawpaw trees, berry bushes, shrubs for pollinators, and seasonal crops and herbs, all available to anyone in the community. There's even an old apple tree with a family of starlings nested inside!
