The seminary offers opportunities for students to participate in ministry in the Sewanee community and beyond through committees that focus on building the kingdom of God.



Creation Care Committee

It is the desire of the Creation Care Committee to deepen and expand work around environmental stewardship at the School of Theology.

Florence Li Tim-Oi Committee

The Florence Li Tim-Oi Committee, named in honor of the first woman ordained a priest in the Anglican Communion, exists as a trifold forum to engage with the ministry of women in the life and work of the Church at the School of Theology.

Diversity and Reconciliation Committee

The Committee for Diversity and Reconciliation leads the community in discussions around a range of critical social issues such as race and racism, discrimination based on gender, age, class, sexual orientation, ethnicity, and disability.

Missions Committee

This committee plans, coordinates, and executes service events through which members of the seminary community can witness to and live out their call to proclaim the Good News and to share their resources of time, money and talent with persons in need.

Pastoral Care Committee

The Pastoral Care Committee supports the life of the seminary through a multi-leveled approach that is holistic by addressing the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of the community.
