The School of Theology of the University of the South seeks applications for the position of Executive Director of the Beecken Center.
The Beecken Center of the School of Theology provides education, formation, and enrichment, through a wide variety of programs and initiatives, toward the goal of turning faith into action. Although many clergy are involved in its programs, the Beecken Center has long emphasized theological education and formation for the laity. The Beecken Center is the home of Education for Ministry (EfM), Invite*Welcome* Connect, SUMMA: Student Theological Debate Society, and a lengthy list of other programs and partnerships. Candidates for the position will need to have extensive experience in lay theological education, a proven record of strong administration, excellent organizational skills, and the capacity to creatively lead a large staff. Experience in continuing education for clergy will be considered an asset. Broad knowledge of The Episcopal Church’s programmatic assets, challenges, and opportunities is essential. Strong candidates for the position will have a terminal degree in a relevant field of theology or education and be otherwise qualified to hold an appointment to the faculty and designation as an associate dean of the School of Theology.
