The 2008 Holy Land Pastoral Renewal Program sponsored by the School of Theology at the University of the South, Sewanee, Tenn., invites pastoral leaders to consider participating in a life-changing, vocation-renewing experience. Healthy, vibrant, learned, and spiritually mature pastoral leaders contribute powerfully to healthy, vibrant, and growing churches. The Holy Land Pastoral Renewal Program will enable successful applicants to address three needs critical to pastoral life and practice:
* The need for community, to be fostered as we gather for orientation, share in a two-week pilgrimage to Israel, and reconvene for reflection two months after our return.
* The need for sustainable habits of spiritual formation, to be explored in times of prayer and worship, personal quiet time, lectures, and assigned readings.
* The need to reclaim and sustain patterns of lifelong learning and discovery for clergy serving in an ever-changing ecclesial landscape.
The Holy Land Pastoral Renewal Program Dates are:
Pilgrimage Orientation Session: September 18–19, 2008
Pilgrimage: October 14–28, 2008
Reflection Gathering: January 8–9, 2009
