Rector, Ithaca, NY

St. John's Episcopal Church, Diocese of Central New York

St. John’s Episcopal Church is a welcoming and inclusive parish and Jubilee Center in the heart of downtown Ithaca, New York, also home to Cornell University and Ithaca College. Consistent with the call of Matthew 25, St. John’s is blessed to host Loaves and Fishes of Tompkins County, a Christian ministry and the largest Community Kitchen and advocacy program in the county.

We look to the guidance of the Holy Spirit in leading a rector to St. John’s who will embrace a faith community that reflects the varied educational and income levels evident in Ithaca, corporately celebrates the sacraments, ministers to us when we “are wearied by the changes and chances of this life” (BCP, p. 133), honors inclusiveness and diversity, assists us in serving the poor and persons with special needs, and has administrative, leadership, and communication skills.

This is a full-time position.

If you sense a possible call and would like to inquire further, please contact the Rev. Carrie Schofield-Broadbent, Canon and Transition Ministry Officer for the Diocese of Central New York. Expressions of interest will be accepted through October 6, 2017.
