Director of Youth Ministry, Jacksonville, FL

St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Jacksonville, Florida is seeking a full-time Director of Youth Ministry to oversee discipleship of students in 6th-12th grades. This individual should be a purposeful, caring, excited leader who has a solid relationship with Jesus Christ and a heart for youth, their parents, and the teams of the church who pour into young people. St. Mark’s is a neighborhood church with a multi-generational congregation that worships using both contemporary and traditional music. This position would report directly to the Associate Rector for Christian Formation, work closely with the Director of Children’s Ministry, and collaborate regularly with St. Mark’s Episcopal Day School.

Primary responsibilities for the position include:
● Work with an established volunteer team to continue to create engaging opportunities where students get to be a part of mission, worship, learning, fellowship, ministry, and leadership development.
● Expand and equip a solid volunteer base to be utilized in the execution of the ministry and ensure Safeguarding certifications for all volunteers in accordance with Diocesan procedures
● Embrace opportunities to connect and build relationships with youth and families outside of the church walls - including those who are a part of St. Mark’s Episcopal Day School
● Communicate regularly with key ministry stakeholders (parents, volunteer leaders, day school families, larger congregation, local community)
● Collaborate with colleagues to intentionally coordinate multiple intergenerational events throughout the year
● Develop and maintain the annual youth ministry budget

Qualifications for this position are:
● College graduate
● Experience working or volunteering in church ministry, specifically with youth
● Proficient with Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel and Outlook
● Knowledge and utilization of adolescent-popular social media platforms
● Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing
● Ability to organize, focus, and multi-task
● Ability to work as part of a team
● Ability to keep accurate and detailed records
