Associate Rector, Rome, GA

St. Peter's Episcopal Church is located about 1.5 hrs northwest of Atlanta and 1.75 hrs south of Chattanooga, in Rome, Georgia. Rome is home to Berry College and the Rome Braves (minor league baseball team). It has a substantial medical community, excellent schools, a bustling downtown, and offers plenty of outdoor recreational opportunities.

St. Peter's is located in the heart of downtown Rome, in the "Between the Rivers" historic district. We have an ASA of 200+. Services of worship on Sunday are at 8:30 (Rite I) and 10:00 (Rite II). We have 2 small, but meaningful weekday Eucharists as well. Our liturgical style is broad church. In 2019, we will celebrate out 175th anniversary.

We are seeking to call an associate rector who will share in preaching, pastoral care, presiding, teaching, and all other areas of ministry. In addition, the associate rector will oversee youth and young adult ministries. We will consider both transitional deacons and ordained priests for this position.

We are seeking to extend a call before the end of March. The start date is flexible, with a target of May-June time frame.

This is a full-time position. Deadline for submitting an application is 2/28/19.

Submit a brief cover letter, OTM Profile, and resume to Elizabeth Barnes at elizabeth@stpetersrome.org. Applicants will be reviewed, and selected applicants will undergo a phone screen with the Rector before moving forward to the next interview.
