Director of Children's and Family Ministries, Falls Church, Va.

The Falls Church Episcopal, Diocese of Virginia

The Falls Church Episcopal, a radically welcoming, thriving, transformative church with colonial era roots and a new church plant’s ethos in a bustling suburb of Washington, DC, is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic full-time Director of Children’s and Family Ministries. Proud of being simultaneously one of the oldest and youngest congregations in the country, The Falls Church longs for an organized, innovative, and energetic director to lead and further expand an existing Godly Play-based program with more than 100 children between the ages of three and 5th grade. With relational gifts for loving children and their families where they are, candidates should be able to teach and inspire children to respond to God’s call to love our neighbor as a significant aspect of Christian discipleship. In addition to building trust and equipping parents, training volunteers, and steering a Spirit-led program, the director will be an integral part of a vibrant, self-starting staff passionate about The Falls Church and its history and mission. The congregation has tripled in size in the last five years, and this position will partner with the new Director of Youth Ministries and the Directors of The Falls Church Day School (serving toddlers - Kindergarten) to further support vital worship, spiritual formation, and fellowship opportunities for birth through young adults as well as help bridge the student transition between the elementary and middle school ministries.
This is a non-ordained position in which the ideal candidate will have a college degree, several years of experience leading a dynamic children and/or family ministry program, and a strong passion for the Christian faith, preferably consistent with the Episcopal tradition.

This is a full-time position. A full position description can be found here.

Applications will be accepted until June 8, 2018, and may be sent to Aly Eaton.
