From the Dean

Grace to you and peace in Jesus Christ our Lord!

At the School of Theology you will find many signs of a deeply-rooted Anglican community, living the Gospel of Jesus and offering eager hospitality to all kinds of people—with widely differing backgrounds and widely differing points of view.

At Sewanee, our vocation is to study and pray, to live together in intentional community, and to engage God’s mission in the world around us. To be a disciple of Jesus is both what one is and who one is becoming and Sewanee provides a wonderful context in which to work that out.

We are blessed with the 13,000 acres of the University Domain. It is a place of astonishing beauty, unrivalled biodiversity, and transparency to the Holy. I hope that you will find time to visit and encounter the land and the peoples of which we are a part.
