The School of Theology is pleased to welcome The Rt. Rev. Dr. Chris Jones, assistant bishop vicar general of the Anglican Diocese of Tasmania, Australia. Jones will arrive in early October as part in The School of Theology’s bishop-in-residence program. Jones has particular interests in faith based non-profit organizations. “There are three key words that reoccur time and again when we look at transformational leadership: servant-hood, stewardship, and fidelity,” states the Bishop. Jones is also the CEO of Anglicare in Tasmania, an organization dedicated to “enriching peoples lives with Christian care.” Angicare is a non-profit organization that exists to “achieve social justice and to provide the opportunity for people in need to reach fullness of life.” The bishop-in-residence program invites bishops to visit The School of Theology for a period of time to accomplish their own programs of academic study and spiritual refreshment.
A reception will be held for Bishop Jones on Monday, October 8, 5–6 pm, in the Foyer of Hamilton Hall. The seminary community is invited to attend and welcome him.
Bishop Jones shares lunch and a chat with the children of the seminary community.
