School to Host Special Martin Luther King Jr. Service

Chapel of the Apostles,

The School of Theology will host a special Martin Luther King Jr. feast day service on April 11 in the Chapel of the Apostles at 5:45 p.m., taking place at the regular Thursday evening community service. Everyone in the community is invited to attend.

The Rev. Kim Jackson, Diocese of Atlanta, will be the guest preacher. Jackson is the Episcopal chaplain for the Absalom Jones Episcopal Center serving Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, Morris Brown College and Spelman College.

The St. Paul's Episcopal Church Choir, Diocese of Atlanta, will be performing. Part of St. Paul’s mission is to provide dynamic worship through its diverse music that covers standard choral classics, English anthems, new & old “concert” arrangements of spirituals, arrangements of hymn tunes, and gospel selections. For this service they will performing a cross section of contemporary, traditional, and gospel music. The accomplished choir has sung in venues such as National Public Radio and the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City.
