Education for Ministry celebrates 40th anniversary
On June 29, 175 people, graduates and participants of EfM, gathered in Salt Lake City to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the program, now the key education and formation program of the School’s Beecken Center. Attendees came from across the U.S., from the east coast to Hawaii, including one graduate from Hong Kong.
Owning Diocesan Bishop Elected to be 27th Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church
The Rt. Rev. Michael B. Curry has been elected the 27th presiding bishop of the Episcopal Church. Curry, bishop of the Diocese of North Carolina, is one of the University of the South’s owning dioceses.
Gift to the University Supports School of Theology’s Vision
The University of the South is pleased to announce a $1 million gift from the Episcopal Foundation of Texas, a significant portion of which has been designated for the School of Theology.
The School of Theology Confers Degrees
On May 8, 35 students and two distinguished guests, Archbishop of South Africa Thabo Makgoba and Bishop of the Diocese of East Carolina Robert Skirving, received degrees and certificates from the University of the South’s School of Theology.
Senior Academic Prizes Announced
On April 22, the Rt. Rev. J. Neil Alexander, dean of the School of Theology, bestowed recognitions, awards, and prizes to the members of the senior class during the community lunch in Cravens Hall.
Coakley Will Give the 2015 DuBose Lectures
