Dr. Holloway is Professor of New Testament. Prior to coming to The School of Theology he was Senior Lecturer in New Testament and Christian Origins in the Department of Theology and Religious Studies in the University of Glasgow, Scotland. A member of the Society of Biblical Literature and the Studiorum Novi Testamenti Societas, he has published articles in such journals as Harvard Theological Review, Novum Testamentum, New Testament Studies, Byzantinische Zeitschrift, Vetus Testamentum, Zeitschrift für die neutestamentliche Wissenschaft, Early Christianity, and the Journal of Biblical Literature. He has written Consolation in Philippians (Cambridge 2001) and Coping with Prejudice: 1 Peter in Social Psychological Perspective (Tübingen, 2009), and has recently edited Women and Gender in Ancient Religions (Tübingen, 2010). He is currently preparing a monograph on Romans as well as a commentary on Philippians for the Hermeneia series.
